Regularly voted as tops by the drivers of the world, the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps is part of the legendary motorsport tracks in the same way as Le Mans, Indianapolis or Monaco.
A regular theatre since 1985 of the F1 Grand Prix of Belgium, this legendary track, a little more than 7 km, the longest in the world championship, well deserves its official status of "the most beautiful circuit in the world". This global label for the Spa loop is rarely disputed and must be due to its undulating profile, to its quick turns, with its famous and unique Raidillon, of course, but also to a natural and majestic setting, in the middle of forests of fir trees in which the noise of the engines resonate.
A common passion for the automobile and above all a desire to be shared, these were the main driving forces for the creation of the ACO in 1906.
For more than 100 years the Automobile Club de l’Ouest is the creator and organiser of the legendary « 24 Hours of Le Mans ». The ACO was at the origin of the setting up of « 40 Millions d’Automobilistes », an association of general interest that, since 2005, has acted as the privileged representative of public authorities for major issues, such as road safety, mobility and sustainable development. The ACO is also member of the ‘Union Nationale des Automobile-Clubs’ (UNAC), which gathers more than 320,000 members on the national territory, thanks to the coming together of 26 local Automobile-Clubs.
